Sixth Grader in Washington Becomes Target of a Kill Video

Kids treat their peers horrendously nowadays in the expectations that these peers will be their friends for life. However, since anyone so treated is under no obligation whatsoever to be a friend to the person treating them badly, it is no wonder the good kids tend to have next to no real friends in school. The case of Piper Smith is like this, and with the public humiliation caused to her by these peers, she is now hurt and disturbed that she was treated this way. What did her female peers do? They created an animated video of her titled "Top Six Ways to Kill Piper."

This is more than disturbing to most adults in America, who might think that kids are just being kids, even though by the time most kids are in junior high, they know the difference between right and wrong. Piper Smith and her peers are students at Elk Plain School of Choice in Spanaway, Washington.

The video portrays a girl, Piper, as being killed in six different ways by her so-called friends, some of which include being pushed off a mountain cliff, and suicide. The song "True Friend" by Hannah Montana was used in the video, which is also a copyright violation according to the law. The video was posted on Youtube, which prompted Pier's mother Beth to tell the local news what the girls did to hurt her daughter. Junior high students can often be nasty to each other, especially to their own gender. These girls are at an age which will predict if their real friendships will last into high school and adulthood. Sadly, those girls without friends, usually have none to carry on with them through the next stages of their education.

There are of course the commonly asked questions as to how this video came to be made. Where were the parents of the girls who made the video? Obviously they were not supervising their kids. Was it planned during classtime? Or was it planned behind Piper's back? If Piper is smart enough, she will not call the girls who made this video about her, her friends, since real friends do nothing of this kind to another friend.
