There are essential fatty acids that must be included in our diets, these fatty acids are then splint up into two groups omega-6 essential fatty acids and omega-3 essential fatty acids. They only slightly differ from one another, there have been studies that have proven that by ingesting too many omega-6 essential fatty acids can cause inflammations, your blood to clot and even the growth of tumors. There is actually good news in with this as well, the complete opposite is true of omega-3 essential fatty acids. Omega-6 essential fatty acids can be found in vegetable oils and omega-3 essential fatty acids are found in fish oils and other foods as well.

Both doctors and scientists seem to be in agreement when it comes to their ideas of the causes in the increased numbers of cases with heart disease, hypertension, high blood pressure, obesity, diabetes, early onset of aging, and some types of cancer, the agreement is there is an imbalanced amount of omega-3 and of omega-6 ingested into the body.

The two most essential fatty acids EPA and DHA, seem to be very helpful in preventing atherosclerosis, heart attacks, depression and also many different kinds of cancers. It is proven that fish oil is healthy and beneficial when used as an aid in preventing many various illnesses. Just to name but a few of those cases and illnesses, rheumatoid arthritis, diabetes, Raynaud's disease and ulcerative colitis.

The heart is the most important part of our body, so having a healthy heart should never ever be an option. Especially in this day and age when the knowledge is readily available for us to improve our health. An unhealthy heart can have a devastating affect, death. Or at least a shorter lifetime, and possibly a less enjoyable life. It is safe to say it is in human kinds best interest to keep our hearts healthy and the best way to ensure that is by eating foods that contain fish oils.
