A diabetic has to be very careful when choosing the foods that they put into their bodies. All foods that are put into a diabetics body can greatly effect their overall heath. Each meal has to be appropriate for the consumption of a diabetic. Diabetes does not affect only one age group, people of all ages, ethnic backgrounds and regardless of the bank accounts, diabetes is not a choosey disease, it does not discriminate. If diabetes is not treated it can slow down the healing time for wounds, infections may take longer to cure, and there is the possibility of going blind and kidney failure. A healthy diet is essential in helping to keep control over this disease. Vegetarian diets with a serious stress on low fat, high fiber high nutrient foods are balancing for a diabetics health.

Diabetes currently affects over 30 million people, taking over the body through the food that we chose to ingest into our systems. The food we eat is converted into glucose through digestion in most cases. This isn't exactly what happens in diabetics. A diabetic can not control the glucose amounts that are converted and dispersed within their bodies. This is because the sugar that is carried in the blood to our cells to create energy is not properly functioning. The insulin is either completely missing or it is available in the improper amounts that can be used to properly function. A direct result from insufficient glucose levels and glucose levels building up in the body is blurry vision, weakness, inability to concentrate, and loss of coordination. If the right amount of glucose is not stabilized and properly maintained after a length of time can result in a coma and even death.
