Nothing inspires weddings more than the romance and freshness of spring. And nothing drives the prices of services and products more than the mention of a wedding. But with a little creativity, ingenuity and a glue gun, you can cut a few corners and still have chic, darling wedding favors to charm your guests. Keep in mind, expensive favors are impressive, but few guests will keep them long after the wedding. Give something that serves the moment without adding to your wedding debt.

Make tiny bags of candies in your wedding colors. Companies like M&Ms now offer personalization for a reasonable price. Tiny bags of white and pink (or your wedding colors) M&Ms candies with you and your betrothed's initials, the date or "Thank You" will thrill your guests' inner children. M&Ms offers two phrases and two colors per assortment. Buy a few yards of silver gauze or a similar transparent material to cut squares approximately six inches wide. Place a handful of candy in the center and wrap the top of your "bag" with a matching ribbon. You can add tiny, hand-cut tags with a special message or your guests' names. Or add a small silk flower or other miniature found in bulk at discount craft stores.

For a different twist, save small sample jam or baby food jars. Wash them well and be sure to get all the paper labeling off. Now, you can paint the lids a solid color and add a little design. Maybe flowers, a vine, two little bluebirds, etc. Pick something that represents your special wedding day. Fill with an assortment of colorful candies.
