For centuries Christians everywhere have believed that if you are good and go to Church, then when you die you will be rewarded with eternal life in heaven. But, is that really what God has lined up for us? Why don't we look into the Bible and see what our creator has to say on the subject.

Look at God's original purpose.

If you read Genesis over pretty well (look closely at Genesis 2:15) there is no mention or even a hint that God had promised Adam he would live in heaven at any point. His purpose was to live on the earth and cultivate the garden Jehovah had created. Yes, things changed after he sinned but, does this mean Gods plans changed?
If you read Genesis over pretty well (look closely at Genesis 2:15) there is no mention or even a hint that God had promised Adam he would live in heaven at any point. His purpose was to live on the earth and cultivate the garden Jehovah had created. Yes, things changed after he sinned but, does this mean Gods plans changed?

"God is not a man that he should tell lies,
Neither a son of mankind that he should feel regret.
Has he himself said it and will he not do it,
And has he spoken and will he not carry it out?"
-Numbers 23:19

"so my word that goes forth from my mouth will prove to be. It will not return to me without results, but it will certainly do that in which I have delighted, and it will have certain success in that for which I have sent it" -Isaiah 55:11

These scriptures show that God's plans do not fail. If he starts to do something it will have "certain success".

Death - - part of Gods plan?

Is it a fair assumption to say that God planned for humans to live on earth for a certain number of years, die, and then ascend to heaven? An examination of the scriptures shows results to the contrary.

"That is why, just as through one man sin entered into the world and death through sin, and thus death spread to all men because they had all sinned—" -Romans 5:12

"For the wages sin pays is death" -Romans 6:23

This is clear evidence that only after Adam sinned did death enter into the picture. Humans were meant to live forever on the earth doing the same job Adam had been assigned.

Do any go to heaven?

Oh please - if only 144,000 go to heaven, they are ALREADY there and that means NDEs are faked . . . how stupid! Also, "if you are good and go to Church," is so not true! It's through faith in Jesus. You did not include ANY of the verses about being raised, or being in paradise, and the hope of the resurrection, or never being separate from God. This is horrible, and a horrible, horrible thing to say and a great way to scare people!

Not one of the people claiming the Jehovahs Wittness' are a cult or wrong or cheats your souls used a scripture to back up what they said. I would love for someone to show us all viewing this site where exactly in the bible it says that all people that are good will go to heaven. I also have a King James Version that I use. Our bible is not altered. By the way..."Hallelujah" when translated: In the Hebrew Bible "hallelujah" is actually a two-word phrase, not one word. The first part, hallelu, is the second person imperative masculine plural form of the Hebrew verb hallal.[2] However, "hallelujah" means more than simply "praise YHWH", as the word hallel in Hebrew means a joyous praise, to boast in God, or to act madly or foolishly.[3] The second part, Yah, is a shortened form of the name of God YHWH, sometimes rendered in English as "Yahweh" or "Jehovah". We do not slam against other religion. Our mission just as other christians is to get the word of god out and make his na

To No_evil_cult: No one has cheated your soul. But if you dont want to cheat yourself, why not begin a study of scripture and try to get more knowledge. I know there are a lot of things in the scriptures that would help your understanding and insure your life. And I think a study with the JW's would increase your knowledge of such subjects as death, ressurection, heaven, soul, spirit, etc. There is a tremendous amount of things to learn before spouting off in a demeaning way. I certainly want to encourage you to acquire knowledge about the true God, because it is fundamental to everlasting life. Take care.

jehovah witnesses are bad, 144,000 are not going to heaven, the 144,000 are the people of the 12 tribes, but after it says all the tribes it says and lo there is a great multitude of many nations, countless numbers , so theres more then 144,000 way more..

Obviously, you do not have the same Bible that I do. My Bible does not say that everyone goes to heaven. Read Ephesians 2:8-9

Jesus is the Way, the Truth, and the Life. No one comes to the Father except through Him.

They do not say only 144,000 go to Heaven. All good people go to Heaven when they die. After the final battle, they believe that the Earth will be made a paradise again. Everyone will then go back to Earth to live in paradise, as in Eden. Now, the number 144,000 is controversial. Some say the 144,000 will remain in Heaven after that point to rule with God; some interpret it to mean that they, too, will go to Earth with all of the other humans, but be kings among men to rule the new purified world. Read the JW Bible before you accuse them of saying something. I've actually read the passage myself, and it does NOT say only 144,000 go to Heaven. Read it.

It's funny to see people that are soo bitter at Jehovah's Witnesses try to bash them. Jehovah's Witnesses are among the most loving and genuine people I've ever met, and I've noticed that 9 out of 10 people making negative remarks seem only to make generalization, or short snide remarks. It's qite funny when your looking at it from the outside. =D

Wow, I'm a JW, as of 1 year now. I was raised in Pentecostal type churches all my life. I'm now 36. So I know what people of other "Christian" churches believe. I've been to Baptist churches, four square, Catholic, non-denom, you name it. The Bible says that you will know true Christians by their fruits, or actions. Thus the negative comments by others see here. Either you believe the Bible or not, and Titus 3: 1,2 says this to those who follow Christ, "[1] Put them in mind to be subject to principalities and powers, to obey magistrates, to be ready to every good work, [2] To speak evil of no man, to be no brawlers, but gentle, shewing all meekness unto all men." Note The Part That Says: Speak evil of no man, and shewing all meekness unto all men." Not following these rules, but call yourself a Christian? Think again. I used the King James version so that no one can claim that my Bible as a JW is altered. It says the very same thing. The Bible has the power to set all th
