The Winner of American Idol Is?

Does My Vote Count?

Tonight America has voted and sent another American Idol hopeful into "reject hell." Brandon Rogers 28, who gave a weak rendition of Diana Ross's hit, 'You Can't Hurry Love' was booted tonight on a half hour show. Rogers stood on the stage with 29 year old Phil Stacy who had sacrificed

the chance to be at the birth of his child for 'Idol' auditions and curly topped,17 year old youngster, Sanjaya Malakar. Phil Stacy was told to take a seat and that he was safe for another week. The seating of Stacy faced off Rogers and Malakar. The quiet, smiling Malakar was seated to his relief and everyone else's astonishment and the nervous Rogers was left standing with Ryan Seacrest in front of thousands of fans.

"I am not surprised. said Rogers, smiling a bit. I forgot the words and that is a cardinal sin. I expected this." Next week the process will continue until there is only one hopeful who will become the American Idol.

Super Star, Dianna Ross made a guest appearance and heated up the stage with her presence and great orange dress. Miss Ross sang a song from her new album.

Voters have been a fickle lot through-out the this season and especially surprising everyone last season with the results of the voting. Surprising everyone last year Taylor Hicks beat out Katharyn McPhee and Cris Daughtry. Daughtry has gone on to record a number one selling album in the United States called, 'Daughtry.' Katharine McFee also has a new release as does winning Idol, Taylor Hicks. There has been some grumbling about so called "fixed voting" and also some conflict with possible racial discrimination.

Guesses have been made as to who will win the title this season. My guesses have been wrong thus far. I had predicted that Antonella Barba would depart from the get-go, beginning auditions. She outlasted some of the better talent. Last week Barba was finally voted off.

Fox Broadcasting drew an estimated 24.4 million viewers last week with the scheduled two hour, two night and third- one hour night, special's last week.

There is a website that promotes votes for the worst contestant. They have chosen Sanjaya saying that the Idol contest is contrived for the reality audience. Sadly by voting for the "worst", they are becoming pawns themselves. Not to mention how Sanjaya must feel to be selected the "worst". I am sure he wants to win based on his talent, not as a joke.

I would love to see Blake take this one. Lakisha, Melinda, and Jordin are all very talented as well but there is just something about Blake...

this is not fun to watch any more - and sinjiah needs to be singing in a dark lounge somewhere or with Michael Jackson

It seems to me that many veiwers are as confused as my wife and I. Every middle school has at least 10-20 kids that can sing just as good as this kid, this is soposed to be a show to find the best talent, not everyday talent.

I am very suprised that he is still there, but it is the lack of votes for the really good ones that lets the not so good ones stay because their whole home town is voting for them reguardless. If you want someone to stay, then vote!

America is losing faith in Idol. This week over 11 million fewer people voted, most likely due to the fact that many now believe the voting is indeed rigged. With the singers who have stayed and those who were "voted off", the legitimacy of the vote tabulation can no longer be trusted.
