Creating Borders Around Your Photos in Adobe Photoshop can add a nice touch to your images. Adding different borders can be done in a few easy steps. In this guide I will show you how to create different borders around your images in Adobe Photoshop.

So Let's Begin...

How to create a dotted border in Photoshop

Step 1 - Open your Adobe Photoshop program.

Step 2 - Create a new file by going to File > New.

Step 3 - Open the image that you want to use by going to File > Open.

Step 4 - In your Layers Panel, Click on the Channels Tab.

Step 5 - Click the Create New Channel icon in the bottom of the panel. The new Channel will be Alpha 1. This will also turn your image black.

Step 6 - In the Tools Panel select the Rectangular Marquee Tool and draw a rectangle on the image. Leave enough room between your rectangle and the edge of the image for the border.

Step 7 - In the top of your Photoshop window Click Select > Inverse.

Step 8 - Click on your Foreground Color to select the color that you want your border to be.

Step 9 - In the top of your Photoshop window click Edit > Fill. A dialog box will appear, click OK.

Step 10 - In the top of your Photoshop window click Select > Deselect.

Step 11 - Go back to the top of your Photoshop window and click Filter > Pixelate > Color Halftone. When the dialog box appears, click OK.

Step 12 - In the Channels Panel, click on the RGB Channel.

Step 13 - In the top of your Photoshop window click Select > Load Selection.

Step 14 - In the top of your Photoshop window click Edit > Fill.

Step 15 - Then Click Select > Deselect.

See Image 1

Now your image should have a dotted border around it. You can change the Parameters in the Color Halftone to make adjustments to the border.
