If you remember collecting sports trading cards when you were a kid, you most likely have fond memories of the hobby. There is just something about those seemingly worthless little cards that excites people young and old.

Many people have sports cards stashed away somewhere in a cardboard box. The thing that most people do not realize is that the cards of their childhood are quite possibly worth a good chunk of money now. The sports trading card market is huge and there are many stores across the country that are dedicated to selling only these cards. Very often, news spreads among the trading card community that a rare card has been found in somebody's attic that didn't even know they had it. The card then goes on to sell for thousands of dollars to a collector.

Most of these stores are mom-and-pop type places that sell cards that they buy from companies and have bought from individuals. You may not get as much for your cards at this location, but if you have many cards and don't want to go through a lot of trouble getting rid of them, this is one way.

Another way to sell your sports cards is through an auction or card show. If you look around, you will likely find one of these in your general area. How they work is a bunch of dealers and collectors get together and either trade their cards or sell them to one another. They will also buy off of people like you. You could make quite a bit of money this way, especially if you have a card that is sought after by more than one collector.
