Free Family Events in MA (Boston Metro Areas) for the June Calendar Month
Below is a list of festival events for families taking place in the Boston Metro area during the June Calendar month. While some of the activities within these festival event headings may charge a separate fee for participation, most of the festivities as part of these family festivals are free of charge for all.
Gay Pride Festival
June 5-14, 2009
June 5th marks the kickoff of Boston's Annual Gay Pride Week. The Festival which will consist of a wide variety of eclectic events occurring in and around the Boston metro area, will present ongoing access to arts, music, and other types of entertainment activities at hundreds of venues around town until Sunday June 14th at 10pm when the
(Hot Fuss Sunday) party at Underbar Nightclub will serve as the official closing event. Gay Pride Week offers endless GLBT fun with hundreds of participating venues and a great crowd of like minded people. Salem Arts Festival
June 5-7, 2009
The Salem Main Streets Initiative presents the Salem Arts Festival which will take place from the 5th of June through the 7th, 2009 in the downtown area of Salem, MA. With a mission to promote the arts in the Salem, MA and surrounding communities, the festival will offer live dancers, musical performers and visual artists who collectively cover a broad variety of styles and genres. There will also be opportunities for the public to get involved with a talent show, open mic poetry readings and activities for children.
While the festival spans over 3 days, the official kickoff celebration will begin at 5:30pm on June 5th in Old Town Hall, Downtown Salem. To see a full schedule of events for this day as well as for the festival's entirety, visit the Salem Arts Festival Website.
