South Pacific Islands: Stop the World I Want to Get Off

8
As I looked out of my window in my computer room I saw the hustle bustle of every day life in this civilized world. People are on the run - rushing to their autos and racing to beat the time clock at their related jobs, children with their school bags shouldered on their backs, laughingly in yells and screams as they make their way to their lessons, the crowded bus pulling into the bus stop with passengers pushing their way inside with all the fuss. Then the busy housewives bang and clatter as they busy themselves in cleaning, doing the laundry, and doing other chores about their apartments. Part of the clamor of the day in the civilized life of man and woman, and many a time one wants to stop the world and get off..

Yes there is a way, albeit for a couple of week of even months, and that is to take a restful holiday on one of the south Pacific Islands. Take your choice - the south Pacific Islands are scattered over nearly three million square miles of the South Pacific Ocean. Some are clusters of small Islands (archipelagos) like the kingdom of Tonga. Some of the other islands are to name a few - faraway Tuvula, a nation threatened by climate change - colorful Samoa in the heart of Polynesia, a leading ecotour destination - Noumea, Paris of the Pacific, Melanesian outer island magic -.Solomon Islands, reminiscences of World War Two and high island adventures - Pitcairn Island where the mutineers of HMS Bounty settled - and more ideal holiday sites in the South Pacific.

The vast South Pacific Ocean contains an estimated 20,000 to 30,000 islands (most of them are literally specks in the ocean). These islands lying south of the Tropic of Cancer are in three groups - Melanesia, Micronesia and Polynesia. All are enticing to the visitor in the aura of paradise.
