A Lot More Than Pancakes!

Everybody has probably been to an IHOP (International House of Pancakes). We like to go to the IHOP in The Colony, Texas at 4801 Highway 121. You have probably seen the cheesy commercials for IHOP but don't let that stop you from going. They have always had a great menu, with some of the most hilarious names for breakfasts and dinners. Who can forget their "Rooty Tooty Fresh and Fruity" or the "Moons over my Hammy!"

First I must say that this particular location has drastically improved its service over the last couple of years. Roughly two years ago, my wife and I stopped at the IHOP in The Colony, and were seated, and then ignored for about twenty minutes. We got up and walked out, planning not to return. We finally decided to give them another chance a few months ago, and the service has gotten so good that we have left several servers the kind of tip we might leave at a higher end restaurant.

IHOP has added many new menu items recently, such as the Mediterranean Lemon Chicken, the Nutella Crepes, The Bacon Temptation Omelette, just to name a few.

IHOP also has its standard fare. Eggs done any way you want them, French toast, Burgers and fries, and the like. Most of the breakfasts come with their award winning pancakes.

Something I have always liked about IHOP is that you can have breakfast 24 hours a day. Many times my wife and I will go to IHOP and have dinner for breakfast. Not only that but if you drink coffee, you get a bottomless coffee pot at your table.

Speaking of coffee, the last time my wife and I were there, we spotted a new item. Iced Coffee. They come in three varieties, Chocolate, Regular and Vanilla. We tried one and when we got a refill, our server suggested we try one of the other flavors. This is why we tip so well.

The menu is so varied; you can get anything from steak to beer battered fish, to breakfast to pretty much anything you can think of.

This is a place you can go for a cup of coffee, and a piece of pie, or a full meal. IHOP has been around for many years. They are in just about every state. The service we get at the IHOP in The Colony, Texas gives one a good idea why.
