I was totally shocked when Brandon Rogers was let go March 14-only to let Sanjaya stay on once again, when he isn't really doing a good job. The judges said so, the audience can see it, and even Sanjaya himself was surprised. No one is doubting that he can sing. Sanjaya can sing, but he just isn't singing right. Each week, the judges tell him how bad he is, what he needs to do to stay in, and it just isn't sticking in his brain. He is too young, and inexperienced to be on American Idol. As a musician myself, and having to sing in front of an audience, you have to entertain people. Sanjaya is singing like he is: In a high school talent show; in his shower; at a karaoke bar. He is not taking American Idol seriously! Every contestant on the show is "feeling the music" while they are singing-except Sanjaya! None of the American Idol winners seasons past have given a lame performance. So why is America keeping Sanjaya in?

It was said that Howard Stern mentioned that his "favorite contestant Sanjaya" has survived another cut from American Idol. He encouraged all of his listeners to vote for Sanjaya on the website www.votefortheworst.com . What?! Why would America want to vote for the "worst" American Idol contestant? Will they rush out and buy a CD from someone that they don't like? I went to the website and wanted to know why anyone would be stupid enough to start such a website. They started the site in 2004, to put through someone that the American Idol judges would hate to see win. They are tired of the producers turning away good singers before seeing Simon, Paula and Randy, and letting the bad ones stay in.

We already see that some talented people are turned away, when they do make it in to see Simon, Paula and Randy. For some reason, the judges refuse them. My guess is that its because they sound like they belong somewhere else(cruise ship, Broadway musical, etc.) or they just picked the wrong song, and didn't sound pop or commercial enough. The strangest thing is seeing a picture of Taylor Hicks on the website, holding a Vote For The Worst Tee shirt. That gets me wondering about him. Hmmmm.....

I think that the mockery of American Idol is funny. The whole show is a shaft anyways.
