A Review of Hasbro's Transformers Animated Deluxe Class Battle Begins Megatron
Transformers Classics Deluxe Megatron, the "light" Version of the Emporer of Destruction
Transformers Animated is the most recent Transformers cartoon produced to support a Transformers toy-line, namely the titular Transformers Animated toy-line. The Transformer Animated toy-line has been well received thanks to bright colors and imaginative transformations that produce pretty show accurate figures that are quite pose-able. A boon to the line has been that while the transformations are imaginative, they are not overly difficult as after one or two transformations you get the hang of it.I found a great deal on the two-pack from Transformers Animated of Battle Begins Megatron and Optimus Prime a little while ago so I figured I would pick them up. Other than a two-pack and DVD (really kind of lame as it is only the first episode, the gimmick of this pack is that both figures have a action feature where if you twist their waists then they swing back.
Animated Battle Begins Megatron is a new mold based on his Cybertronian alternate form from Transformers Animated's first episode. Megatron has, quite unfortunately, pink "battle damage" and is mostly grey with black legs and translucent kneecaps, upper arms and hips. Like the voyager version of Cybertronian Megatron, the deluxe version comes with a massive arm fusion cannon that can be folded out into a bladed weapon.
