Easter is a time of great joy and celebration as we celebrate the death and resurrection of our Lord, Jesus Christ. Many people choose to have Easter parties to get together with friends and family for a festive Easter weekend. Spring is also appearing at Easter, so there is much excitement in the air! Here are some ideas for a successful and fun Easter Party!

The classic Easter activity is an egg hunt! Everyone loves to search inside and outside for those brightly colored plastic eggs filled with candy! Choose your place to hide the eggs and be sure to hide them according to the skill level of your visitors. If you have people of all ages coming, why not choose a different area for the younger kids so that you can hide the eggs so they can find them very easily. Make it a bit more challenging for the older kids so that there is more glory in the win! You can spice up a traditional egg hunt by adding clues hiden in the eggs to show them to the next clue which will ultimately bring them to a prize. A scavenger egg hunt will be lots of fun for older youth and adults alike!

Another fun Easter party event is basket filling or decorating. Simple baskets can be purchased to be filled with all the amenities. You can fill the room with small challenges that the kids must complete for each toy or candy they get to fill their baskets with. Set up a table for decorating filled with construction paper, scissors, markers and glue for the kids to decorate their basket. Have them make a name label to place on the basket to be sure they don't loose it or get their basket confused with a friends!

Planting flower pots is also a great Easter and spring activity for your party. You will need to do this one outside or in an area of your house that you don't mind getting a little dirty! Purchase or find several small pots that are pastel colored. Set up a bench or table with soil, seed packets and a small garden shovel. The kids will find so much excitement in planting their own little flower pot and watch with amazement as the flowers grow. When the flowers are strong and healthy, the kids can transplant them into their outside garden.
