I am sure that if you are into writing then you have probably heard of a writing workshop. However not all areas have these types of workshops, so you may want to consider starting your own. Many people find these types of workshops to be essential to their writing careers.

The first thing that you need to do is put everything on paper. You basically need some type of plan in writing before you even get started. You need to decide what your workshop is going to focus on. For example will it be it focus on mystery writing, fiction and non fiction or perhaps mystery writing. You really do have a lot of options to choose from and you need to decide which. Since you are going to be doing this writing workshop from the bottom up you may want to just focus on one form of writing, and then you can add additional topics at a later time.

Next you will need to decide how long your workshop is going to last. For example is it going to be one day long, or perhaps a weekend long event? Since you are just starting out it may be best to have a one day workshop on a weekend. After you have decided on that your next step is to focus on your budget. Whatever you choose you will need to make sure that the venue you choose allow you to charge and set up whatever you or anyone else plans on bringing.
