Motel 6 in Seymour, Indiana I-65, Exit 50: Review - My daughter and I are on our mother-daughter trip of a lifetime to Alaska from Tennessee. We decided to stop for the night in Seymour, Indiana. Our hope was for

something quiet at a reasonable price. There were several other motels that were closer to the interstate. They seemed to offer a similar value.

The thing that set the Motel 6 of Seymour, Indiana apart is that it is not right next to the interstate. It is about ½ mile from the main road. The motel is located right next to Tanger Outlet Mall. There is a large sign out front that reads "new prototype motel". (Whatever that means.) We arrived late and the mall lot seemed to be mainly deserted. The Motel 6 looked quiet but well kept. We decided to give it a try.

The lobby looked clean and tidy as did the outside of the building. The desk clerk seemed nice. Her Indian accent was a little difficult to understand but not too bad. She had to repeat herself a couple of times for me. It only took her a few minutes to get us checked in and off to our room.

We were given a room near the back of the building. It was near enough to the ice machine to make it convenient but not so close as to be bothered by the noise.

The non-smoking room itself was a surprise. It was small but nice and had one bed. Not two. I told the clerk we were a mom and daughter.

After discussion (and because we'd already carried everything into the room) we decided to keep it. The room looked clean. There was a microwave and a dorm sized refrigerator. We were able to put a few bottles of water in there and a couple things in the freezer compartment.

The bathroom was cramped. View the slideshow for photos. The toilet is very close to the wall on one side. Also, about 4 am we noticed it wasn't flushing well. We decided to go with it and let them know at checkout. The sink looked like it could use an update. It was stained and cracked at the bottom of the bowl. It was ok for handwashing but I wouldn't use it for anything else. The bathroom seemed to be clean just a little run-down.

An honest review that is what I enjoy.
Great review, not the best place but at least you got some rest. Hope you enjoy the rest of your trip!
I'm with Greenhill about bathrooms but really enjoyed reading the review of Motel 6 in Seymour, Indiana
Doesn't sound like a place I would visit - bathrooms are pet peeves with me!
Great job. :)
