I remember Christina Ricci as Wednesday from The Addams Family movies. I don't know why but at that age I was intrigued by her acting. Maybe it was because I always liked the character of Wednesday Addams or maybe it was because I picked up on good acting. Regardless of the reason, Ricci has maintained her level of acting and steady work as she crossed the line from child star to adult film actor. Her body of work has proven to be quite interesting and she's still not through with making her mark.

Christina Ricci was born on February 12, 1980 in Santa Monica, California. She grew up in a pretty big family as she was the youngest of four children. She was born to well to-do parents. Her father, Ralph Ricci, was a lawyer and psychiatrist. Her mother, Sarah Murdoch, was a former Ford model and eventually became a real estate agent. However, in 1993, her parents divorced and Ricci, along with her three siblings stayed with their mother.

Ricci realized her love for acting at a very young age. At 6-years-old, Ricci was acting in commercials. She was discovered at the age of eight in a school play and got her first major acting job opposite Winona Ryder and Cher in Mermaids. She played the younger daughter of Cher and sister to Ryder. Although very young, Ricci still received enough attention and praise for her acting and was able to get more roles. The Addams Family movie came calling and sure enough -- the role of Wednesday Addams was a perfect fit for Ricci. She went on to play Wednesday in the sequel, Addams Family Values. These dark comedies seem to remain a thread in Ricci's film work as future roles will tell.
