NBC News (nbc.com) reports that a boy scout that has been missing since Saturday has been found alive.

Twelve year old Boy Scout, Michael Auberry, disappeared in the mountains of North Carolina on Saturday. The spokeswoman for the National Park Service, Tina White, has told reporters at the scene that the Boy Scout has been found alive, but weak.

According to news reports on NBC News, Michael was found on a trail near the Primitive Camp Site. He is being transported by vehicle to be reunited with he parents.

CNN News (cnn.com) has reported that Micheal was camping with the Boy scouts on Saturday when he was discovered to be missing. The discovery that he was missing occurred just minutes after he was last seen.

Michael's father had made a statement to new reporters, as reported by CNN (cnn.com) that Michael has Attention Deficit Disorder and that he was concerned that he did not have his ADD medication with him.

Temperatures hovered at or below freezing, which was a concern. Park Spokesperson Tina White made a statement per CNN (cnn.com) that Michael was wearing a heavy coat and boots. Michael had also received Boy Scout training to cover himself with leaves to keep warm.

Searchers found snack wrappers on Sunday, about a half mile from the camp where Michael was last seen. He was eventually found about a mile and a half from the campsite where he had last been seen.

Michael's father, North Carolina Attorney Kent Auberry, had expressed confidence earlier in the day that his son would be found, according to CNN News (cnn.com). Kent Auberry had stated that his son's disappearance was nobody's fault and that he would trust the Boy Scout group to take his son on a trip again.

Michael is being debriefed and reunited with his parents. If he doesn't need further medical attention he will be able to go home with his parents. He did need some minor medical treatment for dehydration when he was found.

Glad he's been found, glad he's going to be "reuinited with he(sic) parents". The parents are showing great maturity & restraint in their comments to the press, which says a lot about them imho (all good).
