What to Do's

I'm sure all you pet-lovers have been there! Since the beginning of time as long you can remember, or as soon as you got out of the house, you got yourself your ideal pet who has been your baby since; however
, now a baby's coming. How should you handle this? Will your pet be a potential danger to your baby? What do you have to look for? Many questions are zooming around your mind while you're wondering what your best option is, or how to deal with this situation.

Let me first elaborate on this, I think you will know your pet the best. Of course, it is still important to take precautions, but you'll know if your pet is a potential danger or not. If your pet has always had an aggressive behaviour, you may have to consider taking action. Even though some pets are very nice to be around, you should always understand there is a possibility their attitude may change and attack the little baby. Here are a couple of precautions you may like to keep in mind in order to survive this dilemma.

Keep your pet out of the nursery, and don't leave your baby unattended with the pet

Just as a precaution, don't leave your baby unattended with your pet only. Always keep an eye on the two to make sure that nothing will happen. Don't leave anything by chance. As well, personally, I would keep the pet out of the nursery (especially when the baby is sleeping in there!) The best way to do this would be to close the door, and have baby monitors around.

Let your pet smell your baby's belongings

Let the pet get used to the newest family member, and let them smell your baby's belongings, and the baby itself. This will help the pet get used to the scent, and understand your baby just that much more.

Let them spend time with each other

Under your supervision, you may like to consider letting your pet spend some time with you and the baby. This will give them a sense that the baby is family, and close too. The more the two spend time together, the more likely, they'll like each other. In most chances, they'll enjoy each other's company and grow up protecting and caring for each other.

Don't neglect your pet
