Beverly Merrill also known as Danielle Staub starred in the hit reality show 'The Real Housewives of New Jersey'. She is also my hometown girl, who grew up in the quaint little town of Athens, Pennsylvania. Danielle Staub is very different removed from the high school girl when she was known as Beverly Merrill.
She graduated in June of 1980 with my older brother from Athens Area High School. I began my first year at the same school 3 months later so I did not know her personally. The local town seems to be a buzz with information concerning this woman. Yet I would come to know her as the rest of the world did as Danielle Staub on 'The Real housewives of New Jersey' in 2009.
Many may wonder what happened to the small town girl who became a stripper. Trust me that revelation left many local folks shaking their heads in wonder. In our small valley, which is, a few small towns side by side this stuff does not happen, but once in a lifetime.

Beverly Merrill grew up attending the schools and getting adequate grades to pass. She appeared to be a friendly sort of girl, a good child. She did the same things many of us did such as visit the food fast establishments, shop at the local stores, and hang with friends.
When her class graduated in 1980, she was among the 170+ graduates with high hopes for the future. I am sure she never dreamed the twists and turns that her life would take her. In her graduating class, there is a country level judge, a restaurant owner, a doctor, an ex-stripper among other types of job. Yet is she a public embarrassment to her class or for the town?
