Have you ever wondered how street magicians like David Blaine levitate? Maybe you've seen David Blain or some other street magician take flight on some TV special one time or another. Do you remember how astonished the crowd was? Or, how you tried to wrap your head around how a guy could levitate two feet in front of a crowd and no one sees some strings or something. Well, in a rather revealing online video a masked magician rips off the shroud of mystery surrounding this secret and tells all.
The masked magician reveals that the trick starts with astonishing an on looking crowd by slightly levitating a couple of inches. This is accomplished by standing at just the right angle so that one foot is hidden behind the other. As he lifts himself on the ball of his one foot, the crowd viewing from behind him, can only see his heels and the side of his other foot rise about two inches. Oohing and aahing ensues.
It is at this point that the crowds recorded reactions are put to good use by the street magician. The magician repeats the trick this time with the help of a hoist and a few accomplices. The magician levitates a couple of feet off the ground as an accomplice stands in the shot as it's recorded. The accomplice wears a jacket that matches one worn by someone who was in the previously recorded real crowd.
After the street magician and all his accomplices have recorded what they need for the trick, it's back to the bat-cave to get creative. That's where the splicing of the two videos begins to happen add in a little Hollywood magic and we've got flight! Anyone watching the new video would assume that the oohs and aahs of the real crowd are for the two foot levitation instead of the two inch levitation they had actually seen.
