Britney Spears Agrees to Divorce Settlement

It has been reported today the Britney Spears has come to an out of court divorce settlement with her soon to be ex-husband Kevin Federline.

The divorce deal is said to be worth nearly $13 million dollars. The deal includes one up front lump payment of $2 million dollars, half of the money Britney Spears earned during the couple's two-year marriage and half of the price that their marital home in Malibu sells for. The deal also includes an agreement to share custody of their two sons, Sean Preston and Jayden James.

It is rumoured though not confirmed that Britney will have primary custody of the children with Kevin having full visitation rights.

Prior to Britney Spears entering rehab at the Promises clinic Kevin Federline was filing for full custody of the children, something is surely did not help the singers well being. This apparently was the threat Federline used when Britney left the Promises clinic after only one day to get her to return.

The report of the divorce settlement comes with news of Britney Spears leaving rehab. Spears' manager, Larry Rudoph said, "Britney has been released by the Promises Malibu Treatment Centre after successfully completing their programme." "We ask that the media respects her privacy as well as those of her family and friends at this time."

Britney Spears has spent nearly one month at the Promises clinic in Malibu, California. The 25-year checked into the clinic of her own accord on February 20. This is thought to be an unusually short stay at the rehab centre, at which patient's treatment normally lasts for 45 days. As part of her treatment at the Promises clinic Britney Spears was allowed to leave the premises to attend Alcohol Anonymous meetings.

Time in rehab seems to have brought Britney Spears some life balance. A friend is quoted as saying "Everything changed when Britney went into rehab. She and Kevin started talking again and he's been a tower of strength for her." "Her time in rehab has given Britney a lot of time to think, and has shown her Kevin loves his kids and is a good dad."
