Sweet 16 Picks- Secretary Style

This was supposed to be your year. Most of the favorites made it through the weekend, leaving your Sweet 16 looking pretty solid. All of your Final Four teams are intact. So, why is the secretary still leading the office pool?

Yes, there are plenty of games left, and your bracket just might prevail. But if your place of work is like mine, the people are clamoring for a second-chance pool. This is your opportunity to beat the pesky secretary who conveniently chose UNLV just because she had her bachelorette party there. Apparently, not everything that goes on in Vegas stays in Vegas.

In order to succeed in your Sweet 16 pool, you must first jump into the head of the secretary. No longer is Joakim Noah the star of Florida- that honor goes to Albert. Forget the intrigue of the Ben Howland-Jamie Dixon matchup. Instead focus on the drastic climatic difference between Westwood and Pittsburgh.

Now that we're all thinking like the type of people who run the George Masons into the Final Four with regularity, let's break down the games.

Sweet 16

(1) Florida- (5) Butler

This time of year, people are sick of the cold weather. On my last trip back from the bathroom, I counted three computers with tropical islands as their wallpaper. Gainesville may be a far cry from Jamaica, but it sure is a lot closer than Indianapolis.

Florida in a landslide.

(3) Oregon- (7) UNLV

In Las Vegas, three 7's is always a lovely thing to have staring back at you from a slot machine. Apparently, it works in basketball as well.

Take the #7 seeded Running Rebels to win their third in a row.

(1) Kansas- (4) Southern Illinois

A Jayhawk and a Saluki? Sounds like something from Dr. Moreau's island. Doing a little research, you can see that even a puffin born in Chernobyl is better-looking that a greyhound wannabe.

Expect a Kansas win in an ugly game.
