Men lie. Even the good ones, but can you determine what their lies are really saying?

1.) Lie: "I love you for your mind."

What he really is saying: "I love your body"

He doesn't want to come off as 'I only love you for your body' jerk. If he praises your intellect (in this context),it will disguise his natural inclination towards physical attraction and make him seem like a saint.

2.) Lie: "It's not you, it's me"

What he really is saying: "It's you, but I'm too much of a coward to tell you the truth."

Used countless times in dating history, men use this line to avoid the awkward nature of a break up.

3.) Lie: "I lost your number."

What he really is saying: "I had no intention of calling you."

If they want to call you, they will. No capable man has ever lost a number of a woman they found attractive.

4.) Lie: "I didn't even see that attractive woman"

What he is really saying: "I saw the attractive woman."

An attractive woman: heterosexual male:: shiny object: toddler

Men are programmed to examine an attractive member of the opposite sex. A man who says, "I never saw her" or "I didn't even notice her," are merely protecting their loins from a jealous/potentially jealous mate. Men see an attractive woman, acknowledge she is attractive and either act on that biological instinct or just move on.

5.) Lie: "I had lunch with my ex today."

What he is really saying: " I had lunch and then sex with my ex today."

Red flag: If he's still seeing his ex, he's not solely seeing you.

6.) Lie: "I just had a few drinks with the boys"

What he really is saying: "We belched, we farted, and we drank like fish."

There could always be more to this line, but sometimes men are just grown up boys.

7.) Lie number seven: "Sure, you look great"

What he is really saying: "Let's go."

If this is the marathon shopping trip and this is dress number five, he may just want to get out of the store and doesn't want to hurt your feelings.

What he really is saying: "I want to have sex with you"

No explanation needed.

8.) Lie: "I'm just not over my break up"

What he is really saying: "I'm not over my ex."
