Bishop Patterson the beloved COGIC leader went home to be with The Lord, Tuesday afternoon at 4:03 p.m. at the Memphis University Hospital. Bishop Patterson had succumbed to heart failure, and was surrounded by family and friends at the time of death.

The Bishop at 67 years old have been in the hospital for several weeks. Since 2000 he lead more than 5 million believers at COGIC, the fourth-largest Protestant religious denomination in world. He became one of the most well respected clergymen both in the religious and the secular community also as the leader of The Temple of Deliverance Church.

"America lost an angel today. He was favored by the Almighty and he used his favor to instruct us all on how to be better servants," says Harold Ford Jr. upon hearing the news.

Harold Ford Jr. was one of many people the Bishop touched. His words and actions affected everyone from those who heard him speak at church to U.S. Senators.

"The Memphis community has lost one of its most respected and beloved religious leaders. My prayers go out to Bishop Patterson's family and to all those who have been touched by his many years of ministry," says Senator Bob Corker.During the age where we have so many popular mega churches and mega preachers, Bishop Patterson seemed to have had a genuine heart felt passion for those he led in Christ. I am one who will truly miss this great man of God.

Bishop Patterson is a learned minister. He has studied at the Detroit Bible Institute, and LeMoyne Owen College in Memphis, Tennessee. He holds an honorary Doctorate from Oral Roberts University and is the president of the Charles H. Mason Bible College of Tennessee Fourth Jurisdiction in Memphis, Tennessee. Bishop Patterson is the publisher of Bountiful Blessings Magazine and a contributing writer in the Spirit Filled life Bible (King James Version) published by Thomas Nelson Publishers and edited by Dr. Jack W. Hayford. In July 2002, Whitaker House Publishers released Bishop Patterson's first book entitled "Here Comes The Judge".

This is the end of the year and I just found out that Bishop Patterson has gone on to be with the Lord. Truly this was a man of honor and a servant unto the Lord and unto millions of people. Bishop Patterson was one of the first Baptist preachers that I had heard bring straight word and not a whole lot of whooping and hollering. I mean I enjoyed watching him and think that he has opened a lot of doors for the other Baptist ministers that will follow in his foot steps. I will truly miss him
