This show has good concept for ideas on how to deal with out of control and bratty kids without losing you cool. It stars Jo Frost, who is a professional nanny from Great Britain. As I understand it the show originally was for English television, but came over to the United States.
She goes to a home with real parents, or parent, and misbehaving kids. Jo Frost teaches them how to maintain order and discipline. She also goes over the ways that have not worked and the things that the parents may do to help encourage bad behavior. She uses praise and positive reinforcement to assist with behavior modification (I do the same with my golden retriever. I hear they are just like children).
She deals with various problems on the show including name calling of parents, problems with bedtime, kids hitting their parents and siblings, throwing tantrums, and keeping kids in time out. She also has dealt with children with autism. I think she does a rather good job here. Lots of people do not realize that a little patience can help go a long way a be quite helpful. Mostly the children are elementary school age. She has had children as old as 19 as young a 1 year though.
She teaches lots of good techniques for dealing with children in this. Me and my wife like that because we are looking to start a family soon. My wife does not like the fact that I think Jo Frost is HOTT though.
