Fourth of July Fireworks in New Castle, Delaware
The Fourth of July is the birthday for the great nation that we know and love as the United States. This is when the English colonies officially declared their independence from British Empire. At the time many would view this as treason, but as an American I view it as patriotic.
If you want to see fireworks in Northern Delaware I would advise you to also check out the Separation Day celebration in Old New Castle. That is the day that Delaware officially separated from England. There is usually free food, music and fireworks put out at Battery Park in New Castle.
As far as the actual subject of Fourth of July fireworks, this is a great place to see them. One reason is that Delaware is the first state and is the site of the famous crossing of the Delaware by General George Washington. As you know he would become the first President. There are a couple really good places to see fireworks at the time.
I think the best place to see them is in Battery Park. It is basically a repeat of Separation Day. They deck various places out in historical costumes and attire. There are some re-enactments of British, French, and Continental Army troops doing various drills and putting on displays of time period weapons. One year that had a staged duel with pistols. There is also some period music that various performers will play during the day and some period food that you can sample. There are also various places that you can get souvenirs and you can also take tours of some people's homes that allow tours. Many of those homes are historic.
At night you have more contemporary music and it will vary from year to year as to the type of music. Usually they get some good music there. There is also usually some free food and drinks and this also varies. The last time I recall they had tea and lemonade and hot dogs and chicken.
