Southwest Airlines: The Best Airline has the Best Online Ticket Purchase Site

Southwest Airlines is one of the cheapest and lowest cost airlines operating in the United States. They offer reliable, friendly and timely service, to most major destinations in the United States, not just 'southwest' regions. It's interesting to note that the major 'travel deals' websites like Travelocity, Orbitz, and even smaller sites like Mobissimo, do not show Southwest flights in their flight searches. Why if this? It may be that airlines must pay a fee to be listed on these websites, and Southwest, ever the bargain site, does not pay this fee, and is thus not listed. Or, perhaps it is something else. I don't know, but this question simply begs further research. It's really annoying to search on one of these websites, and come up with alot of expensive results.
Southwest has recently revamped their website, www.southwest.com, and it is easier and smoother to use than ever before. You can even download their 'Ding!' program that notifies you when new and better deals are available for flights to areas you are interested to. This is especially helpful, as flights often fill up fast, thanks to Southwest's low prices! If you are truly interested in getting some good deals, make sure to also sign up for their 'click and save' deal. You'll get an email, generally every Tuesday, with the new flight deals that they have. Jump on these fast, as they too fill up really quickly! Like other airlines, they also offer rewards for flying with them for a awhile. You'll get a free round trip flight, pretty much anywhere they fly, once you've flown 8 round trips with them. This is especially handy for someone who is flying home from college, or on short business trips, etc.
Southwest has open seating, which is basically a 'first come, first served' style of seating. They have three boarding groups, group A, B, and C. Checking in earlier will help you get into a quicker boarding group, i.e, A. Then, you are allowed to grab whatever empty spot there is. While this may be a bit overwhelming to some who haven't flown Southwest before, it really is a great idea.
