Water skiing equipment (BASICS)So, have you ever been water skiing before? It's like gliding across the surface of water at top speed with cool water splashing on you. Water skiing is a great sport for almost any age, and is definitely fun and exciting (ok, it can be pretty dangerous too...)! However, just like every other sport, the equipment used is very important; in this case, I'm talking about the skis! There are 4 basic different types of skis available - which one suits your needs?
First off, let me introduce you to the combination skis. I would say they're the most commonly sold type of skis. Their wider tip makes it the best style to use when learning; it's preferred by both the advance and beginners users. The wider skis are easier to get up, and are easier to be towed.
Next off, we have the jump ski's which are used for jumping off of ramps. They have highly specific designs, and resemble long, old fashioned skis; however, they are made of high-tech composite materials. Not to mention, they are very strong and light. These skis are ideal if you plan to do some jumping.
Then, we have the Slalom skis. The Slalom skis are designed for those who only want to ski on one ski. Of course, this is harder to do; however, the skier can go faster and make sharper turns.
Last but not least, the Trick Ski's are also a model available in the market. The name sounds fun, doesn't it? Trick skis are used for doing all types of tricks such as jumping, spinning, and others. Trick skis are used by intermediate to advanced skiers because they are harder to control, and ride; however, the design allows an easier and swifter turn and slide.
Before attempting to water ski, find the ideal ski for you. Go into a store, and have a professional help you find the one that's perfect for you. Put in mind the ski's size (length) differs for people with different height. Make sure to choose the one that's for you.
