DIY: Ladybug Clothesline Wall Photo Display
This adorable ladybug clothesline themed wall photo display is an easy way to showcase your favorite photos for the summertime! It is especially adorable in a child's bedroom, or even in an office cubicle.
For this project, you will need:
- A dozen or so clothespins
- A dozen or so one inch round wooden craft circles (found in the painted
crafts section of most craft stores)
- An artist's paintbrush
- Red acrylic paint
- Black acrylic paint
- White acrylic paint
- Acrylic finishing spray
- String
- Small headed push pins
- A hot glue gun and glue sticks
- A dozen or so favorite photos
Begin first by painting each of the craft circles with the red acrylic paint and artist's paintbrush. Allow each of the circles to dry thoroughly. Rinse the brush, and paint a "Y" shape on each of the circles with black paint. Fill in the triangle of the "Y" with black paint. Allow the black paint to dry. Apply two white dots for eyes to the solid black portion of the dots, and smaller black dots on the red portion for ladybug spots. Coat each of the circles with acrylic finishing spray and allow them to dry.
With the hot glue gun and glue stick, attach one dot to the handle of each clothespin, with the "teeth" of the clothespin sticking down. Allow the glue to dry completely. Coat each of the pins with an additional coat of acrylic finishing spray. Allow the finishing spray to dry.
Cut two twelve inch sections of string. Secure one string to the wall you wish the photo display to be on with a small headed push pin every two inches. Repeat with the second string, six inches below the first. Place the clothespins over the string, so that the ladybug design covers up each small headed push pin. Insert your favorite photos in the "teeth" of each of the clothespins.
Enjoy! Your ladybug clothesline themed wall photo display is now complete.
