When using different techniques to show off your photos, you can create a whole new decorum for your home. I wrote an article titled How to Make Your Own Digital Photo Art Gallery. This article can be used in a similar manner with a twist. The artist canvas' painters use to paint their pictures on can be used for other types of artwork. This is a great project for those who do not know how to paint, but want to create their own artwork using the artist canvases.
Materials Needed for the Photo Art Canvas Project
8 x 10 Artist Canvas - You can use any size that you want to in order to create your own canvas style photos.
Photos - You can use any photos that suit your fancy. They can be photos of family, your pets, scenes from vacations, etc.
Photo Paper - You will want to use a photo paper that has a stiff backing for cluing the photo onto the artist canvas.
Rubber Cement - The rubber cement can be either the kind that you spread the glue on with a brush or the spray on glue.
Ribbon - You will want the ribbon to be at least one inch in width and long enough to go all the way around the artist canvas. You can find two yards of different colored ribbons in the fabric area or in the Scrapbooking section of any retail store, such as Walmart, Micheal's or Hobby Lobby.
Scissors - You will need to trim the photo down and cut the ribbon once you have it glued to the artist canvas.
Directions for the Photo Art Canvas Project
You will need to have your photos uploaded to your computer either from your digital camera or from scanning them onto your computer.
You will want to have an 8 x 10 artist canvas or an artist canvas of your choice.
You will want to load the photo paper into your printer the way you are directed by the instructions of your printer. Some printers require the photo side of the paper to be placed faced up while others will request that you place the photo paper face down.
You will choose which of your photos that you want to print on the photo paper.
Now you will print your photo onto the photo paper.
If you want, you can trim the photo down to the size of the artist canvas. You will want to glue the photo onto the artist canvas and let the glue dry.
