The YouTube Disease As technology progresses, there are more outlets available for viewing home video clips and short movies. The world of online video has become a very popular medium used among internet users for daily entertainment. YouTube has become the most popular online video destination. It has a library of thousands of videos. These videos include homemade creations and short films.
Athough YouTube receieves tens of thousands of visitors daily, it is difficult for short films to gain a significant amount of exposure. This is due to the volume of online videos that are available on YouTube. It can take a long time to find good short films among the latest comedy skit, extreme stunt videos and popular video blogs on this website. However, YouTube is not the only online portal where short films are hard to find. Independent films are hard to come by on mostly every online video site that it currently in operation.
This is one of the reasons why the world needs more short film reviewers. Independent short film critics can help online video audiences distinguish good short movies from the average home video. As a result, filmmakers have the chance to get more exposure for their work. Many good short films and animations get buried in the massive pool of home video hits. Short film reviewers can make a difference in this situation by promoting more of these films online.
Credibility
The most exposure and recognition that short films receive come by way of film festivals. These are usually the only outlets that write about independent short films. Many popular film critics do not write reviews about short films. They stick to popular Hollywood studio films and more established independent feature films. It is difficult to get a short film review in major newspapers and entertainment magazines.
