"The Raveonettes" are a Danish two piece whose influences include the Velvet Underground, Suicide, Sonic Youth, Buddy Holly, and the Jesus and Mary Chain. The Raveonettes , while having the sound of 1950's girl bands and B-Movie drive ins, they also have a darker edge which makes them completely unique to most of their contemporary counterparts. Comprised of Sune Rose Wagner and Sharin Foo, the duo have released 3 studio albums- " Whip It On" EP (2002), "Chain Gang Of Love" (2003), and "Pretty In Black" (2005) all through Colombia/Sony records, and are in the process of finishing their 4th. In fact parts of "That Great Love Sound" (off of Chain Gang Of Love) were used in a K-Mart commercial for the Route 66 clothing line.

"Whip It On" ( EP) while recorded all in the the key of B-flat minor, with songs all under 3 minutes in duration scored them "Best Rock Album" at the Danish Music Awards. ( the Danish equivelant of the Grammy's). "Whip It On" was recorded with Sune on lead vocal and guitar and Sharin on bass relying on a drum machine to fill in for the drum lines. The Raveonettes were noted by both Rolling Stone and Q magazines as being among the "New Wave" of contemporary music in 2003.

"Chain Gang Of Love", the duo's first full length album was recorded all in B-flat major and marked the bands convergence from 2 piece to 4 piece with the addition of jazz drummer Jakob Hoyer and guitarist Manoj Ramdas.

"Pretty In Black" was the bands most unique album to date, removing much of their fuzzy guitar work and moving Sharin from bass to guitar. Sharin also became more active in the vocal work of this album. Their cover of "My Boyfriend's Back" graced the soundtrack of the video game "Stubbs the Zombie".
