Bye Bye to the Sopranos

It is official, The Sopranos is over. Well, at least in terms of filming as the last scene ever to be shot for the show took place in the small suburban New Jersey town of Bloomfield yesterday, March 22.

Tony Soprano himself, aka actor James Gandolfini, was on the set yesterday along with a slew of cast members from this HBO hit show about the Italian-American mafia. The scene took place outside of Holsten's Old Fashioned Ice Cream Parlor on Bloomfield's Broad Street. It was actually quite a difficult task in obtaining the proper filming permits, as Bloomfield had denied The Soprano's original request to shoot at the ice cream store. Upon reconsideration though, the HBO show was granted permission to film for the entire day. It is not known if the scene shot at the ice cream parlor is actually the last scene in the series, but it is confirmed to be in the last episode somewhere.

Season six of The Sopranos is set to resume on Sunday, April 8 on HBO, and the final episode will air in June of this year. The drama has been on the air for over ten years now, and it has won numerous awards for excellence in acting, writing, and directing. The biggest question on viewers' minds is whether or not Tony Soprano will be killed off in the final episode. You'll have to tune into HBO this spring to find out.
