CSU Faculty Vote Yes to Strike
% of 8,129 state educators voted yes to strike the CSU administration. The vote for a strike comes after negotiations between the California Faculty Association, which represents over 23,000 state educators, and the administration collapsed after two years over differences on contractual terms.

Though faculty do hope to continue last-minute negotiations with the administation in order to iron out a new contract, they are prepared to go on strike. Union officials state faculty members will picket during rolling two-day brown-outs that are expected to affect all CSU campuses statewide. The brown-outs are scheduled to start at the end of April and the beginning of May. During this time, classes will not be held while faculty members go on the picket line. Last week, campus chapters began preparations for these statewide strikes in expectation that union members voted yes for a strike.
