Colonel Hector Henry is an Army Reserve from Concord, North Carolina, and Will Serve His Country Again
A 70-year old grandfather is being deployed to Iraq after being called up for active duty. Colonel Hector Henry from Concord, North Carolina, has been called on to serve his country onceIt seems that the main reason that Colonel Hector Henry is being called back into active duty is that he is a very qualified doctor. Currently Dr. Henry works at CMC Northeast in Concord, North Carolina, as well as at the VA hospital in Salisbury. With doctors in short supply over in Iraq, Colonel Henry has been called up again as an Army Reserve, and will be reporting shortly for his latest tour. At an age where most would want to be retired, Dr. Henry is still going strong, and continues to work hard at the two professions which he loves.
It is clear that Colonel Hector Henry is no ordinary man, and his wife puts that in perspective when she answered questions of a local news reporter (Alex Reed). She noted that he runs four to six miles every day, and works out for an hour and a half. It's pretty remarkable for anyone, let alone a man who has seen his share of the world over the years, and he does it all with a dignified air that seems to be both reserved and confident all at the same time. Heading over to Iraq, he will probably be the oldest man in the service, but don't mention that to him, because he doesn't really care.

I would normally love a story like this if I agreed with the reason for us being in Iraq to begin with. Our mission was "accomplished" long ago (and not when that submoronic buffoon stood under the banner, either) and our men should have been pulled. It is not our country to run, occupy, orchestrate, or police. Let the Iraqis do it. If they can't handle it, too damned bad. Sooner or later, they'll have to do it anyway. Dr. Henry is a true credit to his profession and does not deserve to be put harm's way. When the hell will our president's get it into their megalomaniacal heads that it is not our manifest destiny to rule the entire world...

It was my understanding that the military has a mandatory retirement at 60
