Anyone that has followed the NCAA Men's Basketball Tournament known as March Madness over the years knows that the second weekend of the tournament quite often produces the best games. Quite often the final four contests are a let down after the close games in the sweet 16 and elite 8. Thursday night started the sweet sixteen round off with some closely contested games and the second night didn't let the fans down. In the early games the defending national champion Florida Gators were in action as was Georgetown, a team many picked to face Florida in the championship game when this tournament started. In the end both teams had their hands full just to make it to the round of eight.

Butler which was a five seed in their region was a heavy underdog to Florida in this game but they jumped out early to a 17 to 8 lead. They even lead 29 to 23 with four minutes and forty eight seconds left in the first half. Unfortunately for Butler though they failed to score the rest of the half as Florida started to take control with a twelve point run to finish the half and head into the locker room with a six point lead. Butler was pesky though and didn't go away easily. With just under fifteen minutes they held a four point lead, and were tied with Florida with 3:33 left in the game. Florida outscored them though 12-4 the remained of the game for the 65-57 victory and a trip to the elite eight. Florida shot 50% from the field, but the big difference was that they got to the foul line fifteen more times than Butler and outscored them by thirteen from the charity stripe.
