Oh Yes, She's Also the Hottest, Most Riveting Female Star in Hollywood
If Zoe Saldana looks familiar to you, and let's hope she does, it's because you've seen her in some big blockbusters over the last few years. Don't worry, there's more where that came from. The Trekkers out there know her from "Star Trek," the Dennis Quaid fans know her from "Vantage Point," the Tom Hanks fans know her from "The Terminal," and the ten-billion Orlando Bloom fans know her from "Haven." These are just a few of the many movies in which Ms. Saldana has appeared since 2000, according to her official website ZoeSaldana.com. Her website also lists her background as a ballerina and it will be a treat for audiences to one day see her dance.
In the coming months you will get more familiar with Zoe Saldana because she is acting in one of the most expensive films ever made, by director James Cameron who is attempting a, pardon the pun, Titanic comeback.
"Avatar"
The new film "Avatar" ischeduled to open on December 18, 2009, is about how a being known as an avatar that joins other similar characters in an attempt to defend its species by an attack by human beings, according to Reuters. Sam Worthington and Zoe Saldana are the main actors in the movie.
Ms. Saldana plays a character on a planet that is being invaded by humans and "she's trying to fight to protect what belongs to them," she recently told Scifiwire.com. Her character is a N'avi princess named Neytiri and, you bet, Sam Worthington's character Jake Sully falls in love with her, per details published by Sitv.com.
Best Picture of 2009?
"Avatar" costs hundreds of millions of dollars to direct and produce and you can bet that James Cameron is sweating bulletins because of how much is riding on this film. It may not break even if it cannot find a wide enough audience.
However, the potential for the film to be a world-changing event is also huge. The reasons why are two-fold. First, avatars are being more real every day with people doing more and more business and interaction in unreal social environments online and in places like "Second Life" and the video game "The Sims."
