Proper Preparation Beforehand - preparing for a good date is like going into a combat zone. Poor planning and poor preparation is a surefire way to have a grenade blow up in your face or step on a landmine. To avoid this, make sure you prepare everything beforehand - if you're going to a restaurant or catching a movie, for example, make the proper reservations. Winging it never really works, unless you're a master at improvisation. Speaking of improvisation, though, prepare contingency plans for the date in case your original venue becomes inaccessible. For personal preparation, get yourself and your equipment ready - take a shower, brush your teeth, spray on some light cologne, etc etc etc. Simple stuff, but simple is good!

Be Confident About Yourself - one of the biggest turn offs to any date is a lack of self confidence. Humility may be a virtue, but being a doormat is definitely NOT going to endear you to anyone, along with other weakling traits like whining, being morose and gloomy, or as quiet as a corpse. The opposite also applies though, in that no one likes a braggart, a raving bigot, or opinionated lunatic. The best thing to do is to display a quiet, self assured confidence in yourself and your worth - the kind that radiates from you without a need for words or actions to support it. If you can achieve this state, it will go a long way towards sealing your chances for a follow up date or more...

Did You Know?
If you can make your date laugh (WITH, not AT you) you'll increase your chances of a second date by triple.
