Leading Actors Commit to Remainder of Harry Potter Movies

Daniel Radcliffe, Rupert Grint, and Emma Watson Agree to Finish Harry Potter Series

It's official. The actors portraying Harry Potter, Hermione Granger, and Ron Weasley have all signed on the dotted line. Each of them will play their roles in the rest of the Harry Potter series of films.

Recently in the UK there have been rumors that the actress that plays Hermione Granger, Emma Watson, didn't want to appear in the rest of the Harry Potter movies. Also, Daniel Radcliffe is appearing

in London onstage and getting rave reviews.

So if you've been like me and worrying that the young actors would decide to try to hold out for more money or just get bored, worry no more. Who could imagine anyone else playing their parts after watching them in the first five movies? I sure couldn't.

Daniel Radcliffe has come to epitomize Harry Potter in my mind's eye. Even when I'm reading the books, it's Daniel Radcliffe that I visualize. Whoever was in charge of casting did an excellent job choosing him. I saw in an interview that he was 'discovered' at a play while sitting in the audience. He had no acting experience. Someone really had Harry Potter on the brain, didn't they?

From looking at the book illustrations in the earlier books, an uninformed person would be fooled into thinking that the movies were made first, then the books. In my opinion, that's how 'spot on' Daniel Radcliffe is in comparing him to the book's description of Harry Potter.

Rupert Grint also is a perfect choice for Ronald Weasley. That red hair is magnificent. But he has endeared me to him with his animated facial gestures that just steal the scenes. I couldn't imagine anyone else as Ronald Weasley. Some of my favorite scenes involve Ronald Weasley. Special favorites are when he and Harry were in the flying car and got caught in the Whomping Willow. And who could forget Ron's fear of spiders after watching him in the Forbidden Forest fighting off Aragog?

It took me longer to get used to Emma Watson playing the part of Hermione Granger. Not that I think she's a bad actress or anything, I just didn't think that she fit the description of Hermione quite so aptly as Daniel and Rupert fit their respective characters. But now, the movies just wouldn't be the same without her.

Yeah, Richard Harris was the absolute best Dumbledore. Even my kids have commented on his great performances.

I had heard the rumors about Emma Watson. Looks like they are unfounded. Personally, I think there are other actresses who could play Hermione. However, I still hold that Richard Harris was the perfect Dumbledore, and I'm not a fan of Gambon's portrayal.
