Many women get frustrated by the fact that they aren't bringing money into their home as they stay home to raise their children. This is very understandable. After all, it can even get boring to do nothing more than clean and cook all day long with no money as an incentive. Luckily, there are several business ideas that are perfect for stay at home moms.

Business Ideas for Stay at Home Moms #1: Daycare

Starting a daycare in your home is a business idea that only makes sense. If you already take care of a child, what is a few more going to hurt? While it is recommended that you have a degree that revolves around children, it may not be required in your state. Before starting this business, stay at home moms should check the state and city laws to make sure they can start this business without complications.

Business Ideas for Stay at Home Moms #2: Alterations

If you know how to sew, this can be a wonderful business idea. The key to an alteration business is to charge less than what local businesses charge. For example, if a local shop charges $10 to hem a pair of pants, you should charge $8. Give people a reason to come to your business instead of another business. Offer customers deals, individual attention, and hospitality. Many larger businesses will be busy and will rush their customers. Do the exact opposite and make your customers feel important. Even if you decide to charge the same amount, many customers will appreciate the service you provide enough to choose your business over others.

Business Ideas for Stay at Home Moms #3: Bakery

Stay at home moms usually spend part of their week baking cakes for school parties, birthdays, etc. So why not take advantage of something you already do and make a business out of it? This will require having your kitchen up to code and checked by a health inspector, but its well worth it. You could do wedding cakes, cookies, pastries, etc. One other thing you could do to make your business special is to offer delivery to other businesses. For example, offer a deal on large donut orders and then deliver them for free.

Good ideas! I had considered making slings and wraps for babywearing... I still may, now that AC has enabled me to get enough money ahead to buy supplies. :)
