Michael Jackson: A Tribute to Joe Jackson

Thoughts of Michael Jackson: A Tribute to JOE JACKSON

Michael Jackson. I keep hearing questions concerning his possible use of drugs, his dysfunctional family, his children's mother, who, they say, might want custody of the children she gave up for 8 million dollars. I keep hearing about Michael Jackson's sad life and his abusive father, Joe Jackson.

An old man once said, what you pay attention to, that is what you will see. I wish to see the beauty. I want to see the songs, the life Michael created for children, the love he pursued and carried through the universe; I want to experience, again and again how in his presence he compelled us to be nicer, a little more human.

I want to hear again and again how this African American family became and becomes the symbol of the dream that is America. Work hard, dream, and you can, indeed, make the contribution to the planet you desire. I want to hear again, and again, about Michael Jackson's mother, a symbol of African American womanhood. And if folks understood African American Womanhood, they would know that Mrs. Jackson can take care of her grandchildren; she can and will.

And, indeed, I want to hear how father Jackson, though flawed as he is, an African American male dreamed a dream for his children, and in spite of the fact that African American males are discouraged, often disenfranchised, Joe Jackson helped his children achieve the dream in the best way that he knew how. Let that be the media blizz!--

An AFRICAN AMERICAN UNEDUCATED FATHER, flawed Mr. JOE Jackson, INSPIRED HIS CHILDREN TO BELIEVE AND ACHIEVE THE AMERICAN DREAM! Put that on blast! It is easy to talk about a person's flaws. Reframe the conversation. Let's talk about his flaws, maybe even suggest how he can get some psychological help. But is there any good in this man--Mr. Joe Jackson?
