Ten Things to Do With Your Old Romance Novels

If you are an avid romance reader with tons of paperback novels in your home and are not sure what to do with them, and do not want to throw them away, here are ten things you can do with your old romance novels.

1.Salvation Army/Thrift Stores

A good place to get rid of your old romance novels is by donating them to the Salvation Army or a thrift store. The good thing about donating to the Salvation Army or a thrift store is that you can make arrangements for them to come and pick up the books..

2.Hospital/Nursing Homes

Check your local hospital and nursing homes, they are always in need of reading material for their patients. FYI, they are also in need of magazines.

3. Sell Them on Craigslist

Why not try to sell your old romance novels on Craigslist for a couple of bucks. Sell them at reasonable price and then use the money to buy new romance novels.

4. Libraries

Although many libraries don't accept donated books anymore, there are still find a few that do.Make a few phone calls to a couple of your lcoal branch libraries and see if any would be willing to accept paperback romance novels. Also make sure to approach libraries who you know are going to have a book sale soon, libraries tend to accept donated books during this time, in order to sell.

5. Donate to a Literacy Program

Literacy Programs help illiterate adults learn how to read and write. Contact a literacy program in your area to see if they would be willing to accept paperback romance novels as a book donation.

6. Swap Paperbacks with other Romance readers

Why not throw a swapping party? Invite over persons interested in getting rid of their old paperback romance novels. The way it works is that everyone brings over their old romance novels and trades them for "never before been read" new ones. Also if a party is not your cup of tea, advertise on Craigslist to see if anyone is interested in swapping old romance novels. Another place is your local library; a library where I live does this; patrons can bring in their old romance novels and swap them for new ones.

7. Used Book Stores

Takeaways
  • Sell your old romance novels on Craigslist.
  • Donate them to a prison's book program.
  • Open your own online used /new romance book store.
