I will call this a personal editorial. However I am not an editor. I don't even play one on TV.

Mel Gibson, one of my memebers of the Axis Of Idiots Club, which I am now starting, caused more mayham after a speaking engagement at California State University at Northridge about his film Apocalypto after an Assistant Professor Of Central American Studies, Alysha Estrada questioned the actor about the accuracy of his research on the Myan Civilization. Apparently she thought his research was inadequate, inaccurate and possibly racist. She told him so. Mel's answer, "Oh yes and you're a f-----g troublemaker, so f--k off". She was escorted out of the room. A group of Mayan community members were also escorted out of the room when they said they were not justly portayed in Apocalypto. Mel Gibson did not extend a apology as he said he was not the one who escorted them out of the room.

Well don't we love this fellow, first a tirade against Jews and now the Mayans. He may start to run out of people to offend soon. Therefore, my nomination for his membership to the Axis of Idiots Group. Stay tuned for my nominations for Michael Richard and Tom Cruise.

Please feel free to let me know you feelings.

Its a shame because he used to have such clean image as far as Hollywood standards go. Now he just seems like a complete jerk.

I think all the booze has started to melt his brain.

I used to like Mel. Now I don't know what happened to him? Could it be drugs, alcohol, too much fame and money? I don't know. But I do find it sad.

I think his fame has gone to his head. :/

I blame us (American Society) for this sort of thing. We are the ones who give celebrities a status above what they have earned. The fact that someone is a talented actor, singer, director, musican, etc, does not mean that everything about their lives should be celebrated. We are the ones who make these people bigger deals than they truly are, and let them think that they can do no wrong.

I personally think the media makes too much out of it. I mean let's face it if you're trying to give a question and answer session somewhere and a few know it all college students start heckling you because your movies not accurately portraying myan civilization it would be really irritating. I'm the kind of person who would probably say something to them to. As for his drunk tirade months ago how many of us drinkers haven't done things we regretted the next morning. Am I saying his behavior is ok of course not but I don't want to go out and lynch him either. Mel Gibson is human. We've all said and done things that we regret were just lucky we are not in the spot light as much as stars are.

I'm certainly no fan of his weirdo behavior over the past couple of years, but the guy is a very talented director with an eye for the grand. Plus I still tend to view him as the Road Warrior or William Wallace more than I do as a drunk, Jew-bashing bigot. FREEEEEEEDOM!!!

I like Mel. He's said some unfortunate things. I have, too. The difference is, he keeps getting on television with it. His real problem is too much stress and substance abuse, I suspect. Now Sean Penn, his problem is lack of brains.

Has completely gone off the deep end. I guess his true colors are coming through.

I second your motion, sir. Absolute idiot. He is a disgrace to Catholics everywhere.
