Childhood and early family experiences; One older bother and one younger sister. I had a stay at home MOM. We travelled as a family every summer and I remember all of that in detail...As the middle child, my brother and sister would "gang up" on me and try to make trouble....I learned at a very young age to fend for myself. We always visited family from Christmas Eve until the day after Christmas so they year I got married we actually stayed home and I woke up in my own bed for Christmas for the first time. My Mom never drove, so we used public transportation more than most families. We lived near a school, so we had a lot of outdoor. physical activity most of our free time. We got the first color TV on our block....that was cool. The fisr color movie we saw at home was the Wizard of OzEmployment history and experiences After graduating LSU, I worked for the state one year, until our first child was born. I stayed home and had some part time jobs(Mother's Day out like stuff) until my third son entered all day nursery school at age 4.....then I worked along side Charlie for 3 years until I put my degree to work and began work in school system as a school dietitian. Very rewarding and also gave me freedom to raise my family and have time off when my children were out of school.Retired Feb 9th and am a part time Software specialist dealing with school lunch software training/manuals
Education H.S. St Joseph's Academy (all female). 13 years CAtholic school, 1974 graduate LSU Business Administration 1984 graduate work completed in Nutrition Education
Awards, Honors, Recognitions I don't keep track of that stuff....I remember getting awards in HS and college and then as a scout leader and employee, but they didn't mean as much as much as the recognition by my children as a great MOM
Are people better off and happier today than they were in the past? Financially people have more $$$$$, but no people aren't better off. Many people have miss the point of LIVING...spending time with family and friends and helping someone who is in need..Life is too short to continuously want more and spend less quality time with loved ones...
