If you have an indoor garden, you probably enjoy your very own little piece of Eden right in your own home. To make sure your indoor garden stays healthy and well-kept, you'll need the right kind of gardening supplies for its upkeep. Here's a short guide on how to choose the right kind of indoor gardening tools you'll need:Consider the size of your indoor garden.
A smaller-sized indoor garden does not need big tools. In fact, if you have small patches and areas, you might even need smaller tools in order to reach corners and edges. Don't get carried away by the sheer size of many indoor gardening supplies and tools and think about what your garden needs.
Who does most of the gardening?
Most men can handle heavier tools and supplies and won't be bothered by the bulk. However, many women gardeners might find that the weight can be a bit of a burden. Consider who does most of the gardening and buy the tools designed specifically for their own needs and capabilities.
Soil
If you have rich, plant-friendly soil in your garden outside, that should do well for your indoor garden. If you don't, simply buy from a reputable gardening supplies store or your local nursery. If you want your own mix, simply ask your friendly nursery for some tips and create your own.
Water supply
You might need a hose and a source of water for your indoor garden. Provide a water source near your garden and buy the appropriate length of hose. If not, simply use a good water can. You might also want to buy a smaller water can to help you perform small watering jobs. The size of the can and the spout allows you to control the amount of water that goes out so you don't give too much.
You might also want to buy a mister. A simple bottle with a misting cap will do the job well. A mister is also effective in controlling water and is great to use with plants that need extra care.
Forks
Forks are an important gardening tool. They are very helpful in breaking up the soil and allowing air to enter the small crevices, so the soil is healthy and conducive to plant growth. For indoor gardening, go for smaller forks since you probably won't be doing a lot of turning and breaking.
