Who doesn't like to get things for free? I know I won't ever complain about it. There are just certain places that you don't expect to find manufacturers and distributors giving away things in mass quantities. One of those is the movie industry. That's why I was stunned to find out that the makers of Peaceful Warrior are giving away free tickets for opening weekend, nationwide, March 30th through April 1, 2007.

The movie is based on the book by Dan Millman called Way of the Peaceful Warrior. His autobiographical novel talks about the life of a talented gymnast with a promising future cut short by a traumatizing injury. His life leads him towards new friends who show him that life is about more than how many trophies you can collect. Dan goes on to find out what makes a man truly great.

The makers of Peaceful Warrior, Lionsgate and Universal, released this movie last year in only a few theatres. Some of you may have seen it while others may not have heard about it at all. I, for one, had not heard about it at all, but everyone I have spoken to has raved about the impact this book has had on his or her lives.

Lionsgate and Universal decided to re-release the movie, but they decided that the movie's "message" may not be conveyed through traditional advertising and they worried that this may have a negative impact on the number of people who visit theatres to see the film. With this in mind, they took a less traditional approach. They dumped literally millions of dollars into buying movie tickets to give away for FREE to encourage people to see this movie on opening weekend: Friday, March 30th - Sunday, April 1st, 2007.

It's unrealistically easy to get your free passes. Visit http://www.peacefulwarriormovie.net/freewarrior/ and enter your zip code and the number of tickets you want (they'll let you have up to 10 passes). As long as there are still passes available, you will then receive a list of theatres in your area that will be showing the movie. Choose a theatre and your passes will appear on the screen for you to print!

This would've been cool, if I wasn't way too late.

I'm in Asia right now and can't take advantage, but it's still a great deal.

None is mine either, but I passed the link on to a friend in a place with tickets available. Thanks. :)
