As the world continues to watch the bizarre and never-ending saga that is the Anna Nicole Smith story, the Broward County Medical examiners office has released the reason for her death today.

Autopsy results, released a mere seven weeks after the shocking death of Anna Nicole Smith have revealed Ms. Smith died of an accidental drug overdose. The drugs included a sleeping medication (the major contributor) and at least 8 other medications. Anna Nicole Smith was taking a long list of medications from methadone for pain and valium. There was no foul play indicated. CNN was among the first to report the story early Monday morning.

Anna Nicole Smith was 39 years old at the time of her death. She died February 8, 2007 in a hotel room at the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino near Hollywood, Florida.

Ms. Smith's son Daniel pre-deceased her. Daniel who was 20 years old when he passed away in the fall of 2006 at his mother's bedside in the Bahamas. This happened just three days after Ms. Smith gave birth to a baby girl, who is now the center of a horrible custody and paternity battle.

Anna Nicole Smith was best known for her status as a Playboy. She was born in Huston, Texas, November 28, 1967. Before landing her first Playboy cover, she was working at Wal-mart, making $60.00 a week. She quickly skyrocketed to fame and fortune. She met and married oil tycoon J. Howard Marshall when she was only 26 years old and he was 90. He died shortly after their wedding and Anna Nicole spent the rest of her time on earth, battling her step-son for the fortune left by her late husband.
