No matter how hard we try, it's impossible sometimes to avoid a sunburn. We all get it in different degrees throughout our lives. We know that it is bad for us, and we know it increases the risk of skin cancer but we do
it anyways. I guess it is a beauty thing or maybe we just enjoy being outside, but either way sunburn is inevitable. What makes the real difference is how you treat the sunburn and how soon you treat it. It is important to take aspirin or some sort of aspirin substitute as soon as possible. Aspirin helps to reduce inflammation which will greatly reduce the redness of the sunburn. Aspirin can also help to relieve some of the pain that occurs due to severe sunburn.

Sunburn dries your skin out which will eventually lead to peeling. This is why it is important to keep your skin moist when you suffer severe sunburn. Keeping your skin moist will help avoid a lot of the itching that eventually leads to peeling. There are several ways to keep your skin moist. One way, perhaps not the best, is use some sort of household body lotion. This may be helpful if your sunburn is not too severe. If your sunburn is severe, the best thing to use is aloe. Aloe can be taken as an extract from the aloe plant, but the easiest way is to buy the household aloe vera gel. This can be very soothing to your skin which helps reduce the pain that comes with sunburn. It also is a very good moisturizer. Applying aloe vera gel regularly to the affected areas can really help to heal the sunburn, and make it feel a lot better during the process. Aloe vera is the single most important thing when it comes to healing sunburn. Everyone in American should have it somewhere in their homes.

There are, every once and awhile, very severe cases of sunburn. In these cases you may consider going to a local health store where you can purchase several aids to help heal your sunburn. In my mind, the best of these is some sort of apple cider vinegar bath. It can be very soothing, and it really helps to heal and keep your skin moist. This can be very helpful in the most severe cases.
