Update on Gene Fletcher and the Bay Cliff Health Camp

Email from Gene's Mother

For those of you who read my article earlier in the week, "A Little Good News Today", you remember the heroic story of Gene Fletcher, a 14-year old boy who lives in Isabella, Michigan. But Gene Fletcher is far from just a normal 14-year-old boy. He has cerebral palsy and scoliosis and is confined to a wheelchair. In June this year, Gene completed a 100-mile wheelchair journey from Rapid River to Bay Cliff. Gene's efforts raised more than $20,000 for the Bay Cliff Health Camp. The Bay Cliff Health Camp is a non-profit therapy center for children and adults with physical disabilities.

For those of you who did not, here is the link to that story,

Here is an email I received today from Gene's mother, whom you can contact if you wish to make a donation, or just to wish them well. Gene continues to be an inspiration!

Janet,

Thank you for the wonderful article about my son. I just wanted to update you on the final total, to be announced by Bay Cliff Health Camp this week. After the final tally on June 30, Gene had raised $25,000, with a matching anonymous donor contributing an additional $25,000. His efforts have inspired many people, young and old, and the coverage the media has provided has been the impetus for his future project, yet to be announced by my creative, imaginative young man.

Again, thank you, from a very proud mom.
